Explore how the parameters a, b, h, and k transform the graph of y = a·f(b(x-h)) + k:

  • a: Vertical stretch (|a|>1) or compression (|a|<1); negative flips over x-axis
  • b: Horizontal compression (|b|>1) or stretch (|b|<1); negative flips over y-axis
  • h: Horizontal shift (positive = right, negative = left)
