Angle Pair Finder
About This MicroSim
This interactive tool helps you find the complementary and supplementary angles for any angle you choose. Drag the slider to see how the angle pairs change.
Key Concepts
| Pair Type | Definition | Sum |
|---|---|---|
| Complementary | Two angles that add to 90° | 90° |
| Supplementary | Two angles that add to 180° | 180° |
How to Use
- Drag the slider to choose any angle from 1° to 179°
- See the complement (if it exists) - shown in green
- See the supplement - shown in orange
- Read the summary for the calculations
Important Notes
- Complementary angles only exist when your angle is less than 90°
- Angles ≥ 90° have no complement (already ≥ 90°)
- Every angle has a supplementary angle
Interactive Features
- Real-time updates as you move the slider
- Visual representation of both angle pairs
- Automatic calculations shown below
Learning Objectives
- Calculate complementary and supplementary angles
- Understand the relationship between angle pairs
- Recognize when complements exist vs. don't exist
Bloom's Taxonomy Level
Applying and Analyzing - Calculating and understanding angle relationships.
