This MicroSim provides a structured scoring matrix for evaluating whether an emerging technology is a sound investment bet. Six criteria drawn from the analytical tools covered throughout the course are each scored on a 1-5 scale, producing a total score out of 30 with a color-coded verdict.

Click the score buttons (1-5) next to each criterion to rate the technology you are evaluating. The total score and verdict update instantly. Use the preset buttons at the bottom to load example evaluations for the transistor (1950s) and quantum computing (2025) to see how the framework distinguishes a strong technology bet from a weak one.

How to Use This Tool

1. Select a technology you want to evaluate as an investment.
2. For each of the six criteria, click the score that best matches the evidence.
3. Review the total score and verdict in the panel on the right.
4. Compare your evaluation with the built-in presets.
5. Click "Reset" to clear all scores and start a new evaluation.
