Technology Success Indicator Analysis

This MicroSim presents a comparison matrix evaluating five technologies against six structural indicators of commercial success. The Transistor, Internet, GPS, and Solar Panels all show strong green checkmarks across every indicator, reflecting their well-documented paths from early demonstration to widespread adoption and profitability.

Quantum Computing, by contrast, shows mostly red indicators with only partial marks for small-scale demonstration and independent verification. The pattern matches historical technology failures, not successes.

Click any cell in the matrix to see a detailed explanation of why that technology receives its rating for that particular indicator. Pay attention to the score column on the right: successful technologies score 12/12 while Quantum Computing scores just 2/12, a pattern consistent with technologies that never achieved commercial viability.
