Cover Image Prompt

Please generate an cover image for the Digital Citizenship textbook. A modern flat cartoon vector illustration in horizontal landscape format with a 1.91:1 aspect ratio (1200 x 630 pixels), designed as the cover of a Grade 5 intelligent textbook titled "Digital Citizenship."

LAYOUT (strict — do not deviate):

  • LEFT 20% of the canvas: Maka the River Otter, full-body, standing upright, facing slightly toward the center of the cover with a warm, welcoming smile. Maka has warm medium-brown fur with a cream-colored belly and chest, large kind dark eyes, small round whiskers, a short rounded snout, small round black glasses, and a soft river-blue scarf in color #2e6f8e. Maka raises one paw in a friendly wave. Maka should fill the vertical space of the left column comfortably with a small margin top and bottom. Do not crop Maka.

  • CENTER 60% of the canvas: The title "Digital Citizenship" in large, bold, clean white sans-serif lettering (rounded, friendly, kid-readable — similar to Nunito, Quicksand, or Poppins Bold). The title is horizontally and vertically centered in this middle band. Below the title, a smaller white subtitle reads: "Building Safe, Kind, and Balanced Lives Online." The subtitle uses the same font family at about one-third the size of the title. Both lines of text are pure white (#FFFFFF) with a subtle soft shadow for legibility. No other text on the cover.

  • RIGHT 20% of the canvas: A gentle, uncluttered visual motif that evokes the digital world meeting the natural river — soft abstract shapes suggesting a flowing river current, a few small floating circles or pixel-dots in lighter blues and creams, and one or two simple flat icons (a smartphone outline, a speech bubble, a heart, or a wifi arc) arranged loosely so they do not crowd the title. Keep this side calm and light, not busy.

BACKGROUND:

A greenery inspired background that evoke the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers.

In the center the textbook's signature river-blue palette — deeper river blue (#2e6f8e) in the center, transitioning to green edges of the riverbank on the sides. Use a white text reads with strong contrast. No photographic textures. No patterned noise.

STYLE: Modern flat vector cartoon, clean lines, friendly and approachable, appropriate for ages 10–12, no harsh shadows, no realistic rendering, no gradients on Maka (Maka stays flat-shaded). Warm and inviting overall mood.

DO NOT INCLUDE: Real social-media platform logos (no TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Discord, YouTube, etc.). No brand names. No real children's faces. No feathered headdresses, war paint, or any Indigenous cultural imagery. No bald eagles. No scary or cautionary symbols. No additional text beyond "Digital Citizenship" and the subtitle.

OUTPUT: 1200 x 630 pixels, PNG, ready for use as a book cover and Open Graph social media preview image.

Design Rationale

  • Left 20% Maka placement keeps the mascot present without competing with the title. Mascots on book covers work best as a friendly anchor, not the focal point.
  • White title in the center provides maximum contrast against the river-blue background and reads cleanly at thumbnail size on social media.
  • River-blue palette (#2e6f8e) matches Maka's scarf, the site CSS, and the visual identity established in the chapter mascot images.
  • No platform names or brand logos matches the textbook's platform-agnostic editorial policy — the book should still read well in five years.
  • No Indigenous imagery or eagles matches the cultural-sensitivity rules in CLAUDE.md for content created near Bdote.
