Learning Graphs — Concept List v1
This concept list was derived by scanning every markdown page in this site's docs/ directory —
the chapters, glossary, concept-dependency-graph theory pages, the vis.js tutorial labs, the
case studies, the generative-AI prompt library, and the MicroSims — and extracting the distinct
teachable ideas, tools, standards, and techniques referenced throughout. It is organized into
categories that roughly follow the course's own structure: what a concept graph is, how concepts
are labeled and made dependent on one another, how they are classified into taxonomies, how they
are validated, how they are visualized with vis.js, and how they are used together with generative
AI to build and personalize intelligent textbooks.
The final section, Education Theory & Learning Sciences, adds concepts that were not already present in the existing content. These are the pedagogical foundations — cognitive load, mastery learning, backward design, knowledge space theory, and related ideas — that explain why a prerequisite DAG is the right data structure for sequencing instruction, and how that structure is used to drive the automated generation of interactive intelligent textbooks.
