How to Use This Textbook

Chapters are ordered so that every concept appears after all of its prerequisites — you can read straight through, or jump to a chapter directly once you've covered its prerequisite chapters (listed at the bottom of each chapter page). Part 1 assumes no prior xAPI or IEEE-standards knowledge; Part 2 assumes familiarity with JSON and RESTful HTTP APIs; Part 3's persona chapters require no additional technical background beyond what Parts 1–2 introduce.
