Mascot Style Guide¶
This page previews Rowan's seven RGBA raster-image poses and their intended teaching contexts. Every pose has a fully transparent background so Rowan integrates with both light and dark themes. Rowan is generated artwork—not SVG— and should be used purposefully, no more than five or six times in a chapter.

A Note from Rowan
Use this calm pose for short sidebars that orient readers before introducing
unfamiliar terminology.
Welcome to the Record Trail
Follow one learning event from producer to LRS to query, and the larger
architecture becomes much easier to understand.
Key Insight
An xAPI statement preserves actor, verb, and object as one meaningful event.
Keeping those clues together supports trustworthy analysis later.
Rowan's Tip
When documenting a data pipeline, include validation, retry, and failure paths.
The unhappy path often teaches more than the ideal flow.
Common Pitfall
An LRS is more than a log sink. Preserve the semantics that make learning
records interoperable and useful.
You Can Debug This
Walk one concrete statement through the system. Once each handoff is visible,
an abstract event architecture becomes a sequence you can reason about.
Record Connected
You can now inspect a learning event, explain why it matters, and predict
where it flows next.
