Three Ways to Close a Digital Switch
Chapter: 6 — Buttons, Photoresistors, and Analog Sensor Input
About This Poster¶
A push button, a tilt switch, and a reed switch all read identically in MicroPython code — this poster shows what actually differs: the physical mechanism that closes each one.
How to Use¶
- Explore — click a switch to see its trigger mechanism and how to wire it.
- Quiz Me — test whether you can match a mechanism to the right switch.
- Edit mode — open
main.html?edit=trueto drag the zone corner handles and calibrate boundaries once the poster image is generated.
Zones¶
- Push Button — closed by direct finger pressure
- Tilt Switch — closed by a rolling ball bridging contacts
- Reed Switch — closed by a nearby magnet, no contact needed
