The Four-Phase Founder Pipeline¶
Run the Four-Phase Founder Pipeline MicroSim Fullscreen

About This MicroSim¶
This course runs on a four-phase philosophy: Clarity → Validation → Action → Launch. The MicroSim lets participants step through the phases at their own pace instead of watching an animation they cannot pause. Each phase shows three things:
- What it means: a one-sentence definition of the phase.
- Jordan's example: what Jordan, the dog-grooming-van founder from Chapter 1, actually did in that phase.
- Before you click Next: a question that asks the learner to predict the next move before seeing it.
A curved return arrow from Validation back to Clarity, labeled if evidence says pivot, shows that the phases form a cycle. Clicking Next on Launch loops back to Clarity for the same reason: every launch produces new evidence that sharpens the next round.
How to Use¶
- The sim opens on Clarity. Read the definition and Jordan's example.
- Answer the Before you click Next question in your head (or in the chat), then click Next ▶.
- Click any phase box to jump straight to it. ◀ Previous steps back.
- Click the curved if evidence says pivot arrow to see why Validation can send you back to Clarity.
- On Launch, the Next button becomes Back to Clarity ↺ to show that the cycle repeats.
The left and right arrow keys also step through the phases once the sim has focus. On narrow screens the four boxes stack vertically.

Lesson Plan¶
Audience¶
Adult early-stage entrepreneurs and aspiring founders in a live virtual cohort.
Learning Objective¶
Participants will be able to explain, in their own words, the purpose of each of the four phases (Clarity, Validation, Action, Launch) and how the phases connect into a repeating cycle rather than a one-time sequence.
Bloom Level: Understand (L2). Bloom Verb: explain.
Duration¶
10-15 minutes
Prerequisites¶
- Chapter 1 reading on the Clarity → Validation → Action → Launch philosophy
- Familiarity with Jordan's mobile dog-grooming example
Activities¶
- Guided walk-through (5 min): The facilitator shares the sim and pauses on each phase. Before each click of Next, participants type their prediction into the chat.
- Pivot scenario (3 min): Click the return arrow. Ask: what evidence would send Jordan back to Clarity? What would change in Jordan's one-sentence guess?
- Apply to your own idea (5 min): In breakout rooms, each participant writes their own one-line example for Clarity and Validation, using Jordan's examples as a model.
Assessment¶
- Can the participant explain each phase without reading the definition off the screen?
- Can the participant describe a piece of evidence that would trigger a pivot back to Clarity?
- Does the participant describe the phases as a cycle rather than a checklist?
