Project Complexity Comparison Table

Run the Project Complexity Comparison Table MicroSim Fullscreen

About This MicroSim

This stacked horizontal bar chart helps students scope a capstone project by breaking six candidate projects into five complexity dimensions — data integration, graph modeling, analytics, AI/ML integration, and user interface — each scored 0-20. The total bar length is overall complexity; the recommended one-semester target is 60-80 points, with the simpler projects suited to first-time graph builders and the more complex ones requiring prior experience.

How to Use

Hover over any segment to see the dimension and its point value, and the tooltip footer for the project's total complexity. Compare total bar lengths to find a project near the 60-80 target, and compare segment sizes to see which kind of work — data, modeling, analytics, AI, or UI — dominates each project.
