About This MicroSim

This combo chart shows appointment capacity and utilization across six specialties for the current month. The grouped bars show total capacity, scheduled, and completed appointments (left axis), while the orange line shows the resulting utilization rate against an 85% target (red dashed line, right axis). Cardiology runs at 98% — a capacity constraint with a 23-day new-patient wait — and Endocrinology at 95% with a growing waitlist.

How to Use

Hover over any specialty to see its capacity, scheduled, and completed appointment counts and its utilization percentage. Compare each specialty's orange utilization point against the red 85% target line to spot where demand is outstripping capacity, and compare the bar heights to see no-show gaps between scheduled and completed.
