ATAM¶
Vista the Giraffe is the mascot for Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method. A giraffe's height supplies the central metaphor: software architects need a broad view of interacting quality attributes while still noticing constraints at ground level. The name Vista means an expansive view, adding a second layer to the species symbolism. Vista was chosen to install the mental model of looking across stakeholders and consequences before accepting an architectural tradeoff. With both name and species encoding systems-level perspective, this is an exceptionally strong subject-coupled mascot.
