Circuits¶
Sparky the Lightbulb is the mascot for the Circuits 1 textbook. The mascot is a literal incandescent lightbulb — the canonical "load" in introductory circuit diagrams — given a face and personality. Sparky was chosen because the mascot is the thing being studied: every introductory chapter on Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws, or series-versus-parallel circuits ends with current flowing through some load, and a lightbulb is the most pedagogically iconic load in the field. This is one of the strongest mascot choices in the gallery because the character itself encodes a foundational concept, and Sparky's expressions (glowing brightly in celebration, dim in warnings) map naturally onto real circuit behavior.
