Pip the Bookworm is the mascot for English Language Arts. The familiar bookworm metaphor links sustained reading with curiosity, close attention, and a life spent inside texts. Pip is a short literary-sounding name whose compactness matches the character's small form and makes it easy to recall. Pip was chosen to model the reader who moves patiently through language, uncovering structure and meaning one passage at a time. The species metaphor is conventional but directly relevant, making this a clear and effective curriculum companion.
