Forensic Science¶
Trace the Raccoon is the mascot for Forensic Science. Raccoons investigate objects with highly sensitive forepaws, while their dark facial mask visually echoes the investigative setting without defining their role. Trace is also the forensic term for small transferred materials that can connect people, objects, and places. Trace was chosen to model patient evidence collection and the discipline of following small clues before drawing conclusions. The name carries a core technical concept and the species reinforces careful searching, making the pairing especially memorable and well coupled to the subject.
