  2. Checking In — Consent is ongoing, so respectful people check in as circumstances change.
  3. Uncertainty — Unclear, hesitant, frozen, or mixed responses mean stop.
  4. Withdrawal — A person can change their mind and withdraw consent at any time.
  5. Coercion — Threats, guilt, persistence, secrecy, or power pressure invalidate consent.
