  2. Check the Assumption — Ask what evidence supports the belief and whose experience is missing.
  3. Use Respectful Language — Use the words a person prefers and avoid turning a condition into an insult.
  4. Connect to Help — Offer practical connection to a trusted adult, counselor, clinician, or crisis resource.
  5. Build Belonging — Inclusive routines, activities, and relationships reduce isolation.
